Set in Little Saigon in Sydney's western suburbs, the drama centres on Tracy Heart, who is described as a woman swimming against the pull of the past. The project, which has just received backing from the Australian government film agency, Film Finance Corporation Australia in its latest round of approvals, will co-star New Zealand actor Martin Henderson (The Ring), and be directed by Rowan Woods, whose debut feature was the 1998 drama, The Boys. Little Fish will be the first Australian film that Blanchett has appeared in since 1997's Oscar and Lucinda.
