Director Jarmusch has collected three old shorts and added a bunch of new ones. We have Roberto Benigni volunteering to take over a dentist appointment from a stranger in a 1986 comedy. Tom Waits and Iggy Pop talk about not smoking while they smoke, in a Cannes winning 1993 short. In one of the new segments Cate Blanchett plays both a hyper-defensive celebrity and her luckless, bitterly envious relative who has made an appointment to see her in a hotel room. While it sounds like a lot of comedy, anyone who has seen a Jarmusch film (or who saw him in Blue In the Face) knows that he is very serious about the subject matter.
