Welcome to the new and improved CateBlanchett.net!

If you are a returning visitor, you've probably noticed some things have changed around here! Over the past couple of weeks I have been developing this new version of the site, featuring a new layout, a new gallery, a lot of behind the scenes technical changes and I've updated pretty much all the content. There should be a lot of stuff to keep you busy for a while!

Welcome, Sabine!

I'd like to welcome Sabine, who has been a faithful member and moderator over at cateblanchett.net's forums, where she goes by the nick Layara, to this end of the site! Over the years, she's become my right hand over at the forums, and now, she's sweet enough to dedicate some time to cate.net posting news, helping me out while I'm watching days slip by without having the time to do some serious updating.

Sabine, I can't thank you enough for everything you do! Welcome. :)

Cate's shoes and style

Since Cate's been immersed in 'War of the Roses', it's been a bit quiet at the front. But, I did update the Cate's Style, Cate's hair, and Cate's Shoes sections with Cate's picks from 2008!

I'm celebrating with a new layout, and with some contests coming up while CateBlanchett.net is 5. So keep your eyes peeled! Hope you all like it. :)

Question of the year: Will I meet Cate?

So, on a more personal note: earlier today, my friend Layara posted an article on cate-forums.com, which announced Cate would visit a theatre festival in Germany, where her play 'Blackbird' is set to be performed for 5 nights. I live in The Netherlands, and I would love to see the play, and this is doable for me. Very happy!

Me and three of my forum friends, Layara, Amelie and ysang, have bought our tickets and we're going to the premiere night on the 8th of May. Ofcourse, aside from seeing the play, we hope to get a glimpse of Cate as well. I'm very excited, I've never seen Cate in the flesh before. Keep your fingers crossed!

Now accepting new affiliates

Application for new affiliates was closed for ages, and mainly because when I closed it initially, I forgot to save the application form I had made, and I didn't have time to make a new one. Well, I made a new one now, so application is currently open!

I also went through the list of existing affiliates, and removed all links that were dead, or sites that didn't have a reciprocal link.

New layout!

It was hard for me to retire the previous layout, but it was time for it to go. I spent the last couple weeks working on this new one, and I hope you all like it.

I thoroughly tested everything, but I can imagine a flaw has snuck in here and there, so if you notice anything, send in a comment or e-mail me. Thanks!

New cate-forums!

There is a brand new cate-forums! I've been wanting to switch forum software for a while now, and I've been working on writing scripts to convert the old data to something the new forum could digest. I finished today, and the new cate-forums has launched! Click on the image below to have a look, and if you feel like it, join!

The gallery

In case you haven't noticed; the gallery is incomplete. This is because I accidentally deleted the database for it, which means I have to add near a 20.000 pictures to the gallery again, as well as look up the event and date at which they were taken.

Luckily for me, I have great help in Walsingham, Layara, grace, rachel, Blaze78 and Lana @ cate-forums.com. We will try to get the gallery back online soon.
